Miss Universe Nigeria 2024: Chidimma Adetshina's Triumphant Arrival in Lagos

Chidimma Adetshina, a 23-year-old law student, has made headlines with her recent arrival in Lagos, Nigeria, ahead of the prestigious Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition. Adetshina’s journey to the pageant is particularly notable following her controversial withdrawal from Miss South Africa 2024, where she faced xenophobic backlash due to her Nigerian heritage.

Upon landing in Lagos on Wednesday afternoon, Adetshina expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so thrilled. I was excited throughout the flight and can’t wait to explore more of Nigeria. I believe dreams are valid when action is taken, and I feel this is my time to manifest that.”

Adetshina, representing Taraba State, joins 24 other contestants from across Nigeria in the competition. The event, which will culminate in a grand finale on August 31 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, promises to be a spectacular showcase of beauty, talent, and advocacy. The winner will not only receive a cash prize of ₦10 million but will also represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition in Mexico this November.
